Garden Themed Lifestyle in Abuja: Gemma’s Garden

I didn’t realise I would be spending half my day here and I didn’t want to leave either, so let me show you what I got up to.

There are places you visit for a quick break. You walk in, grab something, sit for a bit, and leave. But then there are places that just… keep you. The kind of spaces where time dissolves, where you forget you had plans, where you realise two hours have passed and you’re still not ready to go. That’s exactly what happened at Gemma’s Garden.

I started with no intention of staying long. I just wanted coffee. Maybe a quick bite. A short pause in my day. But somehow, by the end of it, I had spent half my day there. And honestly? I didn’t want to leave.

Gemma’s Garden: A Garden-Themed Lifestyle Cafe That Feels Like a Whole Day Out

Gemma’s Garden is not just a cafe. It’s a whole experience.

It’s a garden-themed lifestyle space that combines coffee, food, reading, games, wellness, and relaxation into one place. It’s the kind of spot where you can come for coffee and end up staying for lunch, then games, then a wellness session, then another drink. And by the end of it, you’re like, “Wait, I’ve been here for hours.”

That was my day. And it was perfect.

Self-Service Coffee Station

I started at the coffee station where I chose my drink and I made it myself in seconds. That was my pick-me-up drink.

There’s something satisfying about self-service coffee. You know exactly what you’re getting. You control the process. You make it yourself. And it’s done in seconds. No waiting. No complicated orders. Just you, the coffee machine, and your drink.

I picked mine. I made it. And within seconds, I had my pick-me-up. The kind of coffee that wakes you up without feeling aggressive. Just smooth, warm, and ready to go.

That was the start of my day at Gemma’s Garden. And it set the tone for everything else.

The Cafe Corner

I looked straight ahead, saw some pastries and I knew I needed to try them at the cute cafe corner, so I did so.

The cafe corner is cute. Not in a loud way. Not in a way that tries too hard. But in a quiet, intentional kind of way that makes you want to sit down, order something, and just be. The pastries looked good. They looked fresh. They looked like the kind of thing you’d want to pair with your coffee.

So I tried them. And they were good.

It’s the kind of place where the food feels considered. Where everything is put together with care. Where you don’t feel like you’re just grabbing something random. You feel like you’re getting something that was made for you.

For Lunch, I Got the Book from the Reading Corner and Ordered Two Poke Bowls

For lunch, I got the book from the reading corner and ordered two poke bowls. They were worth every penny.

The reading corner is one of my favourite parts of Gemma’s Garden. It’s cosy. It’s quiet. It’s the kind of space where you can grab a book, sit down, and just read for a while. No pressure. No rush. Just you, the book, and the calm.

I picked a book. I settled in. And then I ordered the poke bowls.

Two poke bowls. And they were worth every penny.

The Poke Bowls Were Nourishing and Worth Every Penny

Poke Bowls – N29,500 each

The poke bowls were nourishing. They were fresh. They were the kind of meal that makes you feel like you’re taking care of yourself. Not in a strict way. Not in a restrictive way. But in a good way. The kind of way that makes you feel full without feeling heavy.

They had that easy kind of flavour that makes you take your time with them. Not rushed. Not too complicated. Just fresh, clean, and pleasant. You know those meals that make you feel like you’re making responsible choices without suffering through them? Yes, that kind.

And at N29,500 each, they felt fair for the quality. It’s not cheap. But it’s also not overpriced. It sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting something good without feeling like you’re being charged for the name.

This was such a different and unique experience. I enjoyed every second, especially the poke bowls. They were nourishing. Time just goes by when you’re in there.

I Tried This Refreshing Pineapple-Based Drink and Luka Was Such a Pleasant Server

Also, I tried this refreshing pineapple-based drink and Luka was such a pleasant server.

The mocktail was refreshing. It had that pineapple-based flavour that’s light but not weak. It’s the kind of drink that makes you feel like you’re cooling down without feeling like you’re drinking something too sugary.

Mocktail – N9,300

And Luka, the server, was pleasant. Not in a forced way. Not in a way that feels like they’re trying too hard. But in a genuine, warm kind of way that makes the whole experience feel easy.

That’s the kind of service that matters. When the person serving you actually cares. When they make you feel like you’re not just a customer. When they make the whole interaction feel human. Luka did that. And it made the visit better.

The Men’s Cave
Now to the men’s cave. This was a delight. I played games and I watched the guys play snooker.

The men’s cave is one of the unique parts of Gemma’s Garden. It’s the kind of space that’s clearly designed for people who want to relax, play, and just be. There are games. There’s snooker. There’s that quiet energy that makes you want to stay longer.

I played games. I watched the guys play snooker. And I just enjoyed the whole vibe.

It’s the kind of space that doesn’t feel like you’re in a cafe. It feels like you’re in a place that’s made for hanging out. For playing. For relaxing. For just being.

And that’s what made it a delight.

Wellness Section
Finally, it was time to burn off all I had eaten, with a quick cardio session at the wellness area.

The wellness section is the part that makes Gemma’s Garden feel like a whole lifestyle space. It’s not just about food and drinks. It’s about movement. It’s about health. It’s about the whole experience of taking care of yourself.

I did a quick cardio session. And it felt good. Not in a punishing way. Not in a way that feels like you’re forcing yourself. But in a good way. The kind of way that makes you feel like you’re doing something for yourself.

The Protein Shake to Go With My Cardio Session

I had the most refreshing protein shake to go with this.

Protein shake – N26,500 (Large)

The protein shake was refreshing. It was the kind of shake that makes you feel like you’re taking care of yourself after movement. Not in a strict way. Not in a restrictive way. But in a good way. The kind of way that makes you feel like you’re finishing your day on a note that feels right.

At N26,500 for a large, it felt fair for the quality. It’s not cheap. But it’s also not overpriced. It sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting something good without feeling like you’re being charged for the name.

This Experience Has Been Added to My Calendar

This experience has been added to my calendar as a weekly routine and you should join me.

That’s the highest compliment I can give any place. When it becomes part of your routine. When you don’t just visit once. When you come back. When you make it a thing.

Gemma’s Garden is now one of my regular spots. And I plan to revisit it again soon.

As I mentioned, it has now become part of my regular spots, and I plan to revisit again soon.
