Lomo Café, Abuja: A Book-Themed Comfort Spot for Slow Workdays and Quiet Conversations

Some cafés just make you want to stay a little longer than planned.

That was my experience at Lomo Café.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the book-themed tray, and before I could process that properly, I looked up and realised I was literally inside Book Haven.

That moment was the first sign that this place was different. The tray was not just a tray. It was a statement. It told you that books were part of the story here. And then I looked up and saw the books. The shelves. The reading space. The whole Book Haven energy.

Immediately, I knew I was going to enjoy myself there.

There is something about a café that combines food and books that feels special. It is not just about eating. It is not just about reading. It is about both. It is about slowing down. It is about giving yourself time to do something you enjoy without feeling rushed.

The Book That Made Me Laugh

At some point, I randomly picked up a book and started flipping through it casually. Within minutes, I realised we might all need to rebuild our houses

Books really humble people quickly.

My Soft Workday with a Friend

Soon after, my friend joined me, and the café became one of those soft workdays where productivity and enjoyment somehow blend together perfectly.

That is the kind of day I love. Not too busy. Not too stressful. Not too loud. Just a calm space where you can work, talk, eat, and feel good about the whole thing. Lomo Café gave me that.

The Hidden Tea Room: A Quieter Corner for Conversations

Then I noticed a cosy hidden corner and asked the waitress about it. She explained that it was the Tea Room, a quieter, more intimate area designed for conversations and meet-ups rather than working.

Honestly? That made perfect sense.

The entire café feels warm, calm, and intentionally designed for slow experiences.

That is rare. Most cafés are for speed. Lomo Café is for slowness. And that is what makes it special.

What We Ordered at Lomo Café

We ordered:

  • Lomo Seafood Rice — ₦18,900
  • Chicken Wings — ₦16,590
  • Avocado Express — ₦7,350
  • Chicken Shawarma — ₦7,140
  • Bottled Water — ₦932

The food was good. The portions were solid. The variety was nice. And the prices felt fair for the quality.

The Service Experience

The waitress was kind and eager to help, although she did not fully understand parts of the menu, which led to one incorrect order. But aside from that, the overall service experience was still pleasant.

Would I Go Back to Lomo Café?

Would I go back?

Without hesitation.

Lomo Café feels like the kind of place you visit once and quietly add to your comfort spots.

It is not just a café. It is a space for slow days. For work. For conversations. For books. For food. For feeling good. And that is what makes it worth returning to.
